Long Walks at Aucoot Woods w/Sippican Lands Trust
June 28, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Join an SLT board member for one of our Long Walks that will showcase the various features of our White Eagle, Radio Tower, and Mahoney properties at Aucoot Woods during the walk. Participants are asked to wear a mask when we are together.
Each walk will begin at our White Eagle Property kiosk and will last approximately two hours. White Eagle is located off of Route 6 in Marion. Take Parlowtown Road across from the town cemetery and follow the road until you reach the cul-de-sac. Some may want park and walk-in ½ to ¾ of a mile to the kiosk. If you wish to drive the dirt road, bear left onto the dirt road and follow past the abandoned cranberry bog on your right. Parking is available directly past the bog. The kiosk is a short walk if you continue down the dirt road.
Aucoot Woods is comprised of multiple properties including the 248-acre White Eagle property which supports a rich diversity of habitats including upland pine, mixed hardwood forest, shrub, wooded swamp, and freshwater marsh.
Each walk is limited to 10 participants and you can sign up for either walk by going to sippicanlandstrust.setmore.com under public programs. Each individual should sign up.
The walk is free, but a donation of $5 each from non-members is suggested. If the walk is canceled due to inclement weather, then the information will be emailed to participants. For further information or assistance visit our website or call the SLT office at 508-748-3080.
